Little Weekend Project

Well...I got this wonderful idea from Pinterest.

I had this lovely old window waiting for me to do something with it.
So with the help of my wonderful husband we started sanding all the paint off.
(which we think was lead based)

After we got it all sanded and looking pretty, I put a dark wood stain on it.
(Sorry forgot to get pictures of it with the stain on)

Then I toke a water and white acrylic paint mixer and rubbed it on the old window.
Then I sanded it down to let some of the dark stain show through and gave it an old look to it.

Next my husband toke the metal sheet I purchased from Home Depot and cut it down to fit in the middle window and I screwed in hooks in the other two windows.

And then Luke hung it up in our room and I put all my lovely earrings and necklaces on it.

We had alot of fun doing this little weekend project and I hope to do alot more!!!

So in the last few months I have found Pinterest and fell in love. It started with a co-worker of mine finding it and sharing the wonderfulness of Pinterest. I havn't been able to stop!!!

So far, I have 15 Boards and to many pins to count. But I can't help pin things for "someday". Like someday I will have a house, someday I'll have children, someday, someday someday.

Here are few of my favorite pins and I have alot of crafts I can't wait to get started on.

Oh and the list goes on and on and on.....so look for more craft and projects to come.
Now go out there and Pin.

....Ready for 2012....

Christmas and New Years went well.
Had a great time visiting and seeing all mine and Luke's families. Got more than I expected for Christmas. And made a few people very happy with their presents.

New Years, we went to La Crosse to visit some friends and have dinner with them at a wonderful place named "Piggy's".  Wonderful food and great company. We celebrated all night and Luke was filling it in the morning. lol

Luke had to wear a tie and was looking good all night.

Kaylan and I were looking good too.

Christmas isn't even done yet, we have one more in a week for Luke's side and then we can pack up everything and get back to normal life.

Hope everyone had a very wonderful and amazing Christmas and New Years!!

End of November and what not

Well the end of November was a great one....with Deer Hunting, Dad's Birthday, Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Opening day of deer hunting wasn't very exciting. Luke didn't see anything and by the end of the day we only had two deer (normally in the 4-5 range). My Dad got a nice size 5 pointer early in the morning and my Uncle Larry got 4 pointer later in the day. But after a 10 day deer hunt and 10 guys hunting we ended up with 8 deer. Which is pretty good, considering the week of bad hunting.

This is a picture of three deer eating in the field next to Mom and Dad's house Saturday Afternoon
Us girls were trying to get them to run to the woods but no lucky.

Dad's Birthday was Monday of deer hunting and we usually all are together for it. Everyone in the family come together for supper, drinks and great conversations. Dad got some great presents this year starting with mom and Kati getting him a leather vest for riding the motorcycle and Luke and I got him outdoors speakers for the deck, which will be great for the brewer games on the deck in the summer time.
Every year I make my dad a dessert that he would like...well this year I made him two different cookies.
Lemon Crisp Cookies

Chocolate Snowflake Cookies
Both cookies were a hit and was told that I can make them again, anytime.

Thanksgiving was great, we don't have the traditional Thanksgiving meal so our Thanksgiving was Country style spare ribs in the crock pot with sweet baby rays BBQ and sauerkraut. mmmmmmmm It tasted so good.

And after we ate, watched the Packer game and tried to take a nap Mom and I went into the night to get the great deals on Black Friday. We were in Walmart at 9pm at night, stood in line to get what we wanted and on to the next place, and the next place, and to the next place. We got home about 8am, tired and ready for sleep. After a good nap, we got up and had lunch with guys after they got done cutting up the deer.

I hope to start posting about December a little bit early then after it's gone but no promises.

.....Black Friday.....

As most of you know Black Friday is only 8 days away, and I'm super stoked for it. My mom and I have been going for years, We love the busy stores and the rush of getting that great deal that you wanted. Over the years Black Friday has gotten bigger and bigger. With the Internet and everything that you can google, ads have been leaking left and right. Here are a few sites that I have been chcecking out....
blackfriday.info
www.2011blackfridayads.com/
www.blackfridaydealings.com/

Checking every ad we can and still buying the paper on Thanksgiving we try to plan our strategy.
Have our husbands pick out things that they may want for Christmas.
I always have to go for the movies, caz Luke loves his movies.

So I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and for those of one going out on Black Friday...Happy Shopping!!!

YUM......Starbucks

Today after much waiting and anticipation my weekly trip to Starbuck got better.
They finally came out with my favorite latte ever, the Carmel Brulee Latte.
I can't wait to have many, many, many more of these through out the season. I will be very sad when it leaves.

What's aaaa Happen in October

Well here it goes my first "Real" post as a blogger.

Well October was a busy and very fun month for us. It started with our annual Badger game with Mark and Rose on October 1st vs Nebraska. The most wait for game since it was the Nebraska's first BIG 10 game against the Badgers. The day is always filled with beer and tailgating but this game was different, being that the Brewers were playing. So first stop was Jordan's Big 10 Pub to watch the game in our Brewer clothing and then back to the car to change into our Badger gear.

October 4th was our 3rd Anniversary!!! I know...wow 3 years already. We didn't do anything to special. Luke came down to the Dells and we went to the Sprecher Pub and Restaurant.

October 8th we had a family friends wedding in Black River Fall. We had fun talk and reminiscing with all our family and friends.

October 15th, Luke had the Halder Sportsmans Banquet. So to back home we go. It was nice to go shopping with my mom and have some mom time. Luke didn't win anything, but the beer was going down good.

October 22nd we were back in Stratford for a few things. First we had McKayla's birthday party. Second I was helping with a benefit for my co-workers father. Afterwards we ment up with a few friends of our and went out on the town. A great story from that night.......
So while in Black River Falls my mom tells me about this shot Rum Chata. It was wonderful, tastes like Cinnimon Toast Crunch!!! AWESOME!!! Anyways I got a little drunk and thought that everyone needed one or two shots of Rum Chata. Needless to say I didn't wake up that early Sunday morning.

October 29th & 30th HALLOWEEN!!!!
So this year I had the awesome pleasure of having two halloween costumes. Friday Night we were going to a local bar "Reds II" in New Lisbon. We were going as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Matt from Reds II was our Snow White, Mark-Doc, Rose-Sleepy, Kyle-Doopy, Ashley-Bashful, Luke-Sneezy, Me-Happy and a friend of Rose's was Grumpy. We had fun dancing the night away.

Saturday we headed to LaCrosse for a night of fun with friends. So in September we decided that we were going to do Batman. So by the time we went out that night we had....Batgirl, Robin, Catwoman, Riddler, Mr. Freeze, Penguin, Scarecrow and Poison Ivy. It was great to have a huge group going out. We didn't win any halloween costume contest, but that's ok we had fun anyways.

So well as you can tell most months in our life are busy and full of fun!!!!
